Google and Microsoft joined the Camera Phone Image Initiativein an effort to raise the quality of camera phones. Together with existing partners, both helping to create a rating system that willassess not only by cell phone camera resolution but also the sharpness of the image, the amount of visible noise, color reproduction and lens artifacts, such as distortion or color effect.
This cooperation is supported several phone manufacturers and top class lens, such as: Motorola, Nokia, and Sony Ericsson as well as camera makers, such as: Aptina, Fujifilm and Kodak.
